GLEN BIDERMAN-PAM
Comedian and producer,
age 34
Glen Biderman-Pam (2007F) is
the co-owner and creative partner
of Panther Punch, a commercial
and film production company
specialising in comedy. Together
with partner Oliver Booth (2007F),
he produces everything from social
media campaigns to large-scale
commercials and narrative work.
One of Glen’s best-known viral
sketches is “My Kreepy Teacher”,
a parody of Craig Foster’s (1985F)
famous My Octopus Teacher. As
an actor, Glen rose to prominence
playing Rael Rosen in all three
seasons of the hugely popular
Tali TV series, one of Showmax’s
most successful local productions.
“W
e are stepping up
big time this year
as we develop a TV
series for Showmax, set to release
in early 2026. Simply, it’s all about
consistency. Keep getting up, doing
the work, putting in the effort and
grinding through the tough parts.
Everybody thinks making films –
especially comedy – is easy and
fun, but it’s mostly about problemsolving and immersing yourself
in a project until it’s done.
“I’m trying hard to focus on
trusting the process, trusting
my abilities, and trusting that
whatever should happen will
happen. If I stay present, I will
enjoy the wins or learn from
the failures.
“Whenever you feel lost, broken
or dumb, just remember that
everyone feels that way at some
point. Even if it means moving
at 1km/h, you are still moving
forward. Don’t be afraid of failure
– that’s where you learn the most.
“Nobody can do it all on their
own. It really is about teamwork
and learning from those with
more experience. Many people
have given me opportunities
to get to where I am today: Mike
Sharman, the co-creator of “My
Kreepy Teacher”, who also gave
me my first commercial to direct
12 years ago; Team Best; and Ari
Kruger, who’s behind the Tali series.
“If you don’t get nervous, it
means you don’t care. Lean into it,
and trust yourself and your team.
“Bishops taught me to work hard
if you want results. I wish I worked
harder while I was there… But
the lesson stuck with me. Being
at Founders also taught me how
to play and stay young, no matter
how old you are. I have so many
close friends from Bishops, and
I’m incredibly grateful for that.
It taught me respect and discipline,
two values that go a long way in
the real world. Thanks, ’Shops.
And Floreat Founders!”
Glen’s career advice for young ODs
“If you want to be an actor, you
have to think beyond South Africa.
If you want to be a filmmaker,
“If you don’t get
nervous, it means
you don’t care.
Lean into it.”
