PRESIDENT
David Carter (1958G), retired from
the Nedbank Group, is a past chair
of the Bishops Council, past councillor
at St Cyprian’s and past president of
Round Table SA. His father and son are
ODs; his two grandsons are at Bishops,
including Luke, the current head boy.
VICE-PRESIDENTS
Mike Bosman, Brian de Kock, Craig
Howie, John Hueton, John Langford,
Les Masterson, Tim Noakes, Alan
Ramsay, Brian Robertson and Peter
Sauerman are all ODU vice-presidents.
Martin Bey (1990B) is a property,
construction and commercial
litigation attorney. He convenes
the governance sub-committee.
ODU COMMITTEE VICE-CHAIRMAN
Stephen Ciolli (1993W), MD at Ciolli
Readymix, is on the finance, events
and functions, and governance
sub-committees.
ODU COMMITTEE TREASURER
Richard Morris (1970F) has an
extensive background in finance. He
serves on the finance sub-committee.
Outdoor Media, serves on the
communications and mentorship,
bursaries and member development
sub-committees.
Jeremy Friedlander (1972F),
a director of a renewable energy
development company, serves on
the governance and branches subcommittees. He lives in Portugal.
WP van Zyl (1997K) is the general
manager of the HeadStart Trust. He
serves on the events and functions
and governance sub-committees.
ODU STAFF
Kennedy Jimba (1983S), a company
owner who was instrumental in the
formation of the Black ODs initiative,
serves on the communications and
mentorship, bursaries and member
development sub-committees.

Bulelani Calana (2000W), founding
director at Greenhorn Innovations,
is on the branches and mentorship,
bursaries and member development
sub-committees.
Richard Neville (1995S), a director
at Forsyth & Nash, serves on the
events and functions and mentorship,
bursaries and member development
sub-committees.
Brent Dyssell (1987K), a marketing
expert and founder of Independent
Warwick Smith-Chandler (1975S),
founder and CEO of Perfect Laser

Technologies, assists the Gauteng
ODU branch and serves on the
communications sub-committee.
Dr Paul Murray, an integral part
of the Bishops landscape in various
roles since his arrival in 1991, is the
ODU Ambassador. He is still active in
the school, running several societies.
Dedry Weich, proud mother of Grant
(matric, B) and Dean (Grade 9, B),
is the office Administrator and
the ODU’s Events Coordinator.
Lynn Swanevelder, a qualified
teacher and a specialist in IT
integration in education, is the
ODU’s Communications Manager.
