Nights to remember
The Bishops 175 celebrations were sufficient excuse for the ODU to
put on three of the most memorable annual dinners in recent memory,
in Cape Town, London and Johannesburg
CAPE TOWN – 7 March 2024
The home event was an outstanding evening of laughter and celebration at Kelvin
Grove, with ODs gathering for the largest dinner since 1999. With the ballroom at full
capacity and Bishops 175 wines flowing, John Dobson (1985K) led us on a riotous trip
down memory lane, while comics Glen Biderman-Pam and Nik Rabinowitz took things
to a level unencountered. Their world-class comedy performances had ODs young
and old in tears – not always for the same reason. This one will be hard to top.
ABOVE The evening started with
Father Monwabisi Peter saying grace
and included the customary appearance
from the Simply Blue a cappella singers.
LEFT Ryan Julius (2013K), Michael
Burton (2017K), Kimon Buhler (2017K),
Myles Julius (2017K) and Khelan Dheda
(2021B). FAR LEFT The ’99s take a predrink on the lawn: John Catlin (G), Nick
Chambers (W), Sean Flanagan (O), Eden
Gagiano (S), Myles Brown (W), JeanPaul Gomes (K) and Andrew John (B).
