the Indoor Hockey World Cup, with
the brothers featuring prominently.
Captain Dayaan found the net four
times, while Mustapha was named
Player of the Tournament after
scoring a remarkable 17 goals. SA
secured the bronze medal. Dayaan
and Mustapha were also selected
for the Proteas squad at the 2025
Africa Cup in Egypt in October,
which SA won. Then in December,
playing for the BlitzStoks during
the Nkosi Cup, they both earned
their 50th indoor caps for SA in a
milestone match against Namibia,
with Mustapha again named
Player of the Tournament. During
the 2024/25 season, Dayaan and
Mustapha represented the iconic
Dutch club Amsterdamsche
Hockey & Bandy Club, which won
the Hoofdklasse men’s league,
widely regarded as one of the
most prestigious domestic hockey
competitions in the world. Dayaan
was Man of the Tournament.
Notwithstanding their many
successes on the playing field,
Dayaan and Mustapha suffered
the loss of their father Cassa,
a local icon of hockey himself,
in December. See page 108.
At U21 level, James Flint
(2022K), James Grieve (2024M)
and Joshua Mettler (2024F)
represented Western Province at
the SA U21 Hockey National
Championships in May. WP went
on to win it, with James being
named Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, and one level up,
Brett Horn (2022B) and Daniel
Neuhoff (2022K) represented
South Africa at the FIH U21
Hockey World Cup in India, with
Daniel serving as team captain. SA
finished a credible 11th out of 24.

Haashim Pead (2023O)
and Gilermo Mentoe (2023S)

crowned champions. Joining them
on the international stage was Nic

for Young Player of the Year and

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu
(2020F) enjoyed a truly outstanding
2025, racking up records along the
way, including most tries scored
in a season by a Springbok flyhalf,
most tries ever by a Bok flyhalf
(beating Morné Steyn) and most
points by a Bok player in a match,
when he scored 37 points against
Argentina, including a hat-trick
of tries. He was also named in
World Rugby’s Team of the Year.

Ross Vintcent (2020F) again
represented Italy in 2025 while
continuing his club career in the
English Premiership with Exeter
Chiefs. He’s a close friend of
Sacha’s from their time together
in Founders House – and they
faced each other during the
July international series.
